Personal Comments:

I live with my family on Whidbey Island, in northern Puget Sound, Washington, on 15 acres of prairie and forest land sloping to the Sound 1/2 mile away. We have plenty of wild critters around, along with a fair dose of wild weather.
I enjoy backcountry skiing in the nearby Cascade mountains, mountain biking, sea kayaking, sailing, and traveling. The growth in our RE business (along with parenthood) has temporarily slowed our adventurous ways. But, we still have a lot of fun.

Business Comments:

Whidbey Sun & Wind is located on Whidbey Island in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains - we receive 17 inches of rainfall annually - allowing some of the best insolation west of the Cascades. And, the long fetches of Puget Sound to the south and the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the west, provide plenty of wind.

I'm trained as a geotechnical engineer, and licenced as a civil engineer. I chose to facilitate renewable energy in my rural community and region as a means of being part of the solution toward a sustainable future, instead of part of the problem.

Washington State has an active core of renewable energy advocates and industries. With the current solar and wind production incentives, WA may be the most progressive State in promoting RE, despite our historically low power rates (due to hydro power).
