We have been custom builders for about 25 years. We build either from an architect or engineers set of plans, from a set supplied by a customer or from plans that we have designed and built. Most of the houses that we build are passive solar, energy efficient and super insulated. We try to have as much input as possible in the siting of the house, choice of appliances and in helping the customer look for better more environmental solutions from the beginning. We do all of our own wiring and usually most of the plumbing. We have build several spec houses. The last one we did was passive solar, it had a domestic hot water solar system ( Copper Cricket ) propane refrigerator, wood stove with propane fired hot water baseboard heat backup, all lighting was compact flourescents. This house was off of the grid. We did all phases of construction using the photovoltaic system to power all shop tools. It was a demonstration project open for public viewing. We had hundreds of people through to see a working renewable energy system. When the house was completed we brought in the grid as back-up and to make selling it more familiar to lending institutions. It was then sold to a customer.

We also sell and install a full range of renewable energy equipment. We have done about 6 solar electric systems on existing houses this last year and several back-up systems ( generator, batteries and single or dual Trace inverters ).
