Personal Comments:

Kathleen & I live in an offgrid home powered by PV, Wind, and Microhydro. Our home is right on the border between California and Oregon.

I've lived offgrid for over 35 years. We're Ham radio folks, avid gardeners, winos (we grow grapes and make wine) and beekeepers. Kathleen is the author of Home Power's "Home & Heart" column. Two kids, both adults now and on their own. A sweet little grand daughter.

Like Richard, I blame my involvement with RE on Rock&Roll. Just HAD to figure out some way to charge that car battery to run the tape deck! A good friend had the same problem and that led us to the invention of Lil Otto. Funny how things turn out...

Business Comments:

Electron Connection is a full service RE systems integrator. We design systems using our own loads analysis program and do site surveys whenever possible. We sell and/or install all forms of RE systems.

Microhydro is a specialty. Up until a few years ago we manufactured the “Lil Otto” hydro turbine.

We have dealer/associates in most states whom we fully support with good pricing on RE products and by sharing our many experiences with installations. I've been a licensed electrical contractor for 16 years specializing in RE only. I've written many, many articles for Home Power on various aspects of RE including many of the early "Wrench Realities" articles. EC is a founding member and staunch supporter of IPP.

I'm a Vice-President of Oregon Solar Energy Industries Association (OSEIA), and sit on the BoD of the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) representing the Certificants.
