Personal Comments:
I've always been both techie and a nature nut, so working with and living with renewable energy became a natural thing. Background is a long history of electronics, some geotech, a bit of cosmic ray, some years in Silicon Valley. Then escaped that and got a Botany degree, did research in the High Arctic, taught a course at the University of Oregon a few times called Exploring Sustainable Living, while trying to figure out what that meant.
I started RE-Wrenching in earnest about 20 years ago, setting up a system for a cabin I built on land on the Oregon coast. Worked for Real Goods for a while, started doing off-grid site surveys, installs. Earned my OR license. Sold that land (regrets). Did a major efficiency remodel of a 1950 home and slightly net positive for all-electric on the 8 kW grid-tie I installed, shower heat exchanger and more. Selling that to get back on the land.
New land now on the coast and bringing in power would be way expensive, so another cycle of off-grid living awaits. A modest efficient home and newer-tech renewables. Glad I won't be paying the $ 7 watt for PV alone I did back then! Looking forward to cleaner air and the sound of loons and paddle in water, not traffic...

Business Comments:
Solar, hydro, and wind site analysis. System design and installation, primarily off-grid. Troubleshooting, consulting and system inspection services.
Being a granddad now I don't do as much install work, though some. Seems pulling big wire takes more work. Especially I enjoy supporting some clients I've known for many years. Also interesting system designs. Design review, consulting and inspecting for Emerald People's Utility District and Energy Trust of Oregon.
